The GDP Deflator was lower than expected last quarter. I expected a higher Deflator, since an increase in pricing power would explain the better than expected earnings. However, low production costs seem to be the reason earnings were better. Financials have lagged the rally. C JPM BAC and WB are relatively undervalued large banks, and long-term calls may be buys, perhaps to hedge SPX puts.
