Raising taxes is pressing the brake harder on economic growth.
More taxes will support government overspending, which promotes inefficiency.
Government overspending and overregulation is one foot on the brake, while lowering taxes and quantitative easing is the other foot on the accelerator.
The result has been a very expensive and very weak economic recovery. We don't need, and can't afford, more of the same.

Don't forget that a capital gains tax of 15% turns out to be higher when inflation is taken into account. I buy a stock for $1000 and in ten years it grows to $2000. In that time prices have gone up (say) 50%, so my real return of the stock is $333 ($2000/1.50 = $1333). But I pay 15% on the whole $1000 "capital gain" or $150. So the actual tax rate on the real capital gains is around 45%. So what did Warren really pay on his real capital gains. I suspect he knows, but goes on pushing for more taxes. And why not? The government bailed out AIG, which helped save Goldman Sachs, which helped save Warren Buffet a ton of dough.

We should be looking at how much you pay versus how much you use. And the fact is that the rich use squat in govt services compared to what they're paying, so everybody else is already freeloading off of them.
