Next Week Trading (Jul 16th):
Although, I switched to trading mostly stocks instead of options two weeks ago or so, I managed to increase the portfolio by $50K. I bought mostly more deeply oversold stocks that may hold up better in a market crash and likely better long term holds. SPX fell from 3,875 Monday to 3,760 Wednesday morning without much of a bounce, rose to 3,825 Wednesday afternoon, fell to 3,725 Thursday morning, and then rose to close the week at 3,863. It's difficult to predict how high it will go, although 3,900 to 3,950 was recent resistance. However, August to October SPY puts may be buys for volatile trades or a fall back to 3,650.
My portfolio is over $1,750,000 including $1,186,500 in cash.
Calls Contracts-Shares Long
EWJ 4,000 shares
EWG 4,000 shares
SLB 4,000 shares
BABA 1,000 shares
Puts Contracts-Shares Short
SPY Sep 400 2022 10
AAPL Aug 160 2022 10
Portfolio at $100,000 on March 1st, 2018. Portfolio stop loss suspended. Scaled up and adjusted portfolio. Both prior portfolios, since early 2000s, rose initially and substantially, and then failed quickly in “irrational” market “melt-ups," where stocks can go straight up month after month. |
