Jul 20th DayTrading Portfolio (second update):

I bought 1,000 shares of RMBS at $16,800 [16.80], and bought to cover 500 shares of DIA at $54,750 [109.50, for $250 gain].

I plan to sell EBAY above 27.50 and buy 1,000 shares of RMBS. If the market opens high, I'll sell short SPY IWM or DIA, for a quick trade with a tight stop.

The 1,000 shares of EBAY were bought at an average price of 26.45, IMGN was bought at 2.95, and DIA was sold short at 110.00. Stop losses are EBAY 24.50, IMGN 2.60, and DIA 112.00.

My portfolio is over $95,000, including about $40,000 in cash.

Trades 16, 17, and 18 resulted in large losses from the use of stops. Trade 18 had a low stop. The stock fell slightly below that stop, which resulted in a very large loss, and then rose by a large amount. The other two stocks in trades 16 and 17 also rose by large amounts after the stop losses. Trade 11 resulted in a large loss. However, the loss would have been much greater without the stop.
