Trades for Fri Jul 7th (fourth update):
I sold 500 shares of KBH at $23,300 [46.60, for $300 gain], bought 1,000 shares of SMH at $31,600 [31.60], bought 500 shares of KBH at $23,200 [46.40], and sold 1,000 shares of SMH at $32,050 [32.05, for $450 gain). SMH stop loss is 31.00. I bought KBH back, because it's holding up well. I may buy another 500 shares of KBH at 45.90.
If the market opens high, DIA SPY or IWM may be sold short. If the market opens low, SMH KBH or DHI are buys. If KBH falls to 45.50, I'll buy another 500 shares. KBH and DHI generally move together, and if DHI falls by a greater percentage than KBH, I'll buy 1,000 shares of DHI instead.
Trade 1: Buy 1,000 shares of KBH at 45.50. Sell above 46.50. Stop loss 44.00 (which is below 10-day low). Higher target price 48 to 53.
Trade 2: Buy 1,000 shares of SMH below 32.30. Sell above 33.00. Stop Loss 31.40.
My portfolio is about $105,000, including over $80,000 in cash.
