GM stock is lower now than during the 1990-91 recession. Also, there were two capitulations in 2005, reflected in the heavy monthly down volume. GM bounced to over 36 after the first capitulation.

The current fair stock value is estimated to be 38, although it closed below 22. However, GM is potentially a huge turnaround play, which is why billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian has been acquiring shares recently.

Some recent statistics are:

Current Market Cap: $12 Billion
2004 Revenues: $194 Billion
2004 Revenue per share $342
Current Cash: $15 Billion
Current Debt: $278 Billion
Year-to-Date Cash Flow From Operations: $5 Billion
Year-to-Date Free Cash Flow: $26 Billion
Year-to-Date Return on Assets: -0.20%
Year-to-Date Return on Equity: - 15.5%
Employees: 324,000
